Summer Camp Wrap Up: 2025

Montana Is An Incredible Place For Scouting

We say this without hyperbole: Montana Council summer camps in 2025 were AWESOME!

K-M Scout Ranch, Camp Melita Island, and Montana Outdoor High Adventure Base (MOHAB) hosted over 1900 Scouts and adult leaders from 19 different states this summer.

Each of our camps offered unique activities and experiences: at K-M Scout Ranch, Scouts were able to enjoy a day at the Kendall mining townsite; at Melita Island, Scouts caught more fish this summer than the past two summers combined, and at MOHAB, Scouts from around the country experienced river floating and hiking through mountains the likes of which most had never seen before.

From first-year campers working on Tenderfoot rank and Swimming Merit Badge to experienced Eagle Scouts rafting in the Bob Marshall Wilderness to hiking on Wild Horse Island, there was something for everyone this summer at our Montana Council camps.

The fun wasn’t reserved just for the Scouts either – adult leaders had the opportunity to cruise Flathead Lake on a dessert cruise, take part in Yoga, and learn how to bake. Adult leaders could also complete required and optional Scouting trainings, such as Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills, Paddlecraft Safety, and more!

It takes significant planning and preparation to operate safe and fun summer programs; special thanks go out to our camps’ leadership teams, led by Adam Hille (K-M Scout Ranch Camp Director), Ashley Jerome (Camp Melita Island Camp Director), and Luke Coccolli and Alex Crawford (MOHAB Directors).

Our camp directors, program directors, commissioners, and rangers led over 125 camp staff in delivering an amazing program at our amazing facilities. We are grateful to this special group for providing memories that will last a lifetime for our Scouts!
