The Montana Council is pleased to welcome Michael Atkinson as a new District Executive serving the Black Otter District. Mike will work with District Director Levi Knight to deliver the Scouting program to families within the district.
“I was born and raised in Montana, enjoying the outdoors as a youth and into adulthood. I was involved with Scouts as a youth and gained a renewed interest when my children got involved with Scouting.
I have worked part-time as a lifeguard since the 1980s, and most recently at Camp Melita Island for the past two summers, and I enjoy just about everything water-related.
I spent a total of 21 years in law enforcement, and bring training in ethics and leadership from that experience. When I’m not at work, I can usually be found kayaking, doing leatherwork, or riding my motorcycle.
I am happy to be part of the 315 family, and look forward to all of the adventures that await!”
