Montana Council is pleased to announce the 2025 Anniversary Month Contest winners!
Congratulations:
- Winning Troop: 141, Sidney – Badlands District
- Community Service Award: Troop 1936, Whitefish – Northwest District
This year, no Venturing Crews or Cub Scout Packs provided submissions with two activities by the contest deadline.
Troop 141, Sidney, Badlands District, led by Scoutmaster David Christensen.





Troop 141 completed the following activities:
- Wore uniform in public
- Participated in Scout Sunday at their respective churches.
- Demonstrated a flag ceremony, including folding of the flag at Pella Lutheran Church.
- Collected money for the local food bank after church service on Scout Sunday. (They collected $881.17 in cash!)
- Helped put together 150 healthy kits for the local food bank, including socks, combs, shampoo/soap, etc.
- Wrote a letter to the editor with the mayor’s proclamation.
The Community Service Award is presented to Troop 1936, Whitefish, Northwest District, led by Scoutmaster John Harvey.









Troop 1936 completed the following activities:
- Wore uniforms in public while participating in the “World Famous” Whitefish Winter Carnival parade through downtown Whitefish.
- Started and maintained fires, emptied garbage cans, and maintained restrooms during the Whitefish Ski Joring event.
- Bussed tables, served coffee, and did dishes during the Rotary Pancake Breakfast.

The Boy Scouts of America was founded on February 8, 1910. To celebrate, Scouting America, Montana Council offers an Anniversary Month Contest through February. Any Montana Council unit can earn a beautiful purple Honor Unit streamer for their unit flag pole by completing activities during February.
