Nominations: 2025 Silver Beaver Award

Help Recognize Outstanding Scouters

We are now accepting nominations for the 2025 Silver Beaver Award.

The Silver Beaver Award is a council‐level distinguished service award of Scouting America. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. Scouters may not nominate themselves for this award. Only those who their Scouting peers have nominated are considered. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest recognition a local council can bestow upon volunteer leaders.

Nominations must be received by February 28th, 2025, to be considered.

Introduced in 1931 as a pin-on medal, the award was switched to a neck ribbon due to the heavy weight of the medallion. A blue-white-blue ribbon bar was introduced in 1934 for informal uniform wear and in 1946, ribbon bars were replaced by the current knot insignia.

If you wish to nominate a candidate, please download the form and mail or email the completed nomination form to the Montana Council.
