It is with great pleasure that the Montana Council welcomes Grace Friend as the new District Executive for the Mullan Trail District.
Originally from Boise, Idaho, Grace graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in Parks, Tourism and Recreation Management and Environmental Science and Sustainability. While in college, she was able to complete the rank of Eagle Scout. Prior to being in Scouts BSA, Grace earned the Summit Award while participating in the Venturing program.
Grace has served as the Program Director and Outdoor Skills Director at K-M Scout Ranch. She definitely finds time to share the Spirit of Scouting as she has served in many roles through Scouting, with the University of Montana Advocates and various volunteer positions. She has been in Venturing Officers Association roles at a council level and with the territory. Grace is a Vigil Honor recipient, having served as Section Chief, and Section Associate Adviser.
This October, Grace will travel to Switzerland as a Young Baden Powell Fellow. A Young BP Fellow is a young philanthropist, under the age of 35, who supports Scouting and connects with like-minded women and men to contribute to supporting Scout-led projects worldwide.
Grace has one younger brother, Brandon Friend, who is an Eagle Scout attending the University of Arizona.
In her spare time, Grace likes to read, play board games, spend time outside, and explore Montana.
Please welcome Grace Friend to the Montana Council as we are proud to have her be part of Team 315!
