By the time you are reading this, both Camp Melita Island and K-M Scout Ranch have welcomed our first Scout groups for the summer. The sound of laughter echoing across the lake, the crisp snap of morning flag ceremonies, and the wide-eyed wonder of Scouts exploring the wilderness all signal one thing: the spirit of summer camp is alive and thriving.
Every year, our camps become something greater than places – they become proving grounds for courage, friendship, and lifelong memories. Already, our staff and volunteers are witnessing Scouts summoning the bravery to try new things, from conquering their first climbing wall to leading their patrols with quiet strength. These are the moments where confidence blooms and character takes root.
Summer promises more than just outdoor fun. With updated program areas, expanded merit badge offerings, and a renewed focus on leadership development, we’ve created experiences that challenge and inspire. I’m especially proud of the work our dedicated camp teams have done to ensure that every Scout – whether a first-time camper or seasoned veteran – feels seen, supported, and celebrated.
We are deeply grateful to the generous donors and visionary leaders whose unwavering support has enabled these camps to become what they are today. Thanks to them, we are proud to offer some of the finest Scout camp facilities in the nation – places that ignite imagination, test resolve, and leave lasting impressions.
Quite simply, we would not be who we are without them.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the commitment of families, unit leaders, and volunteers who champion Scouting throughout the year. Your encouragement, preparation, and belief in the power of this movement help set the stage for a transformational summer.
